The Warden is responsible for the running of the almshouse. Assisted by the Almaner and the Assistant Warden, he oversees the well-being of both almshouse and almshouse residents.

The warden has been working at Sackville College since February 2003. He lives in the Warden's Lodge with his wife, Bridget and their large cat, D.J. (Demolition Joe).

Mr and Mrs. Gaisburgh-Watkyn spend much of their spare time working on fund-raising projects. Mrs. Gaisburgh-Watkyn also works hard in the garden and is very knowledgeable about all things green. Her work combined with that of the College's talented gardener, Stephen, ensure the grounds remain immaculate.
